My elder brother taught me how to walk upon the sunlit ground,
From the cradle I went to the table to eat,
In his footprints there were my feet.

My little sister she's so sweet,
The heart of our family,
There never went a thing unfound wherever she had been around.

When I fell and caught the ground my brother and sister gathered around,
And led me by my frozen hands to warm my bones and love again.

Love can last but fades so fast and I'm walking on a lonely path,
The many ways they weave and wind,
The way to love would satisfy.

My father loves the family and yearns for our plans to succeed,
He built the garden which we keep from the wilting winter to summer's spring,

My ma she is my saving grace and walks upon my moonlit face,
Though there's heartache in my past: my ma she taught me love can last.

Amazing grace that should allow to make a love like these,
If heaven forbid us gather round in my heart they'll always be.
